Mission
Enhancing the Quality of Higher Education
JUAA aims to enhance the quality of universities in Japan through the voluntary efforts and mutual support of its members, while contributing to international cooperation in university education, research, and related activities.
As a Frontrunner in University Accreditation
JUAA is the oldest accreditation organization in Japan , established in 1947. That same year, we established the “University Standards” for maintaining and improving university quality, and began conducting eligibility assessments for full membership starting in 1951.
Toward a Globalizing World and the Future of Higher Education
JUAA conducts research on higher education both domestically and internationally, striving to improve and enhance evaluation systems while disseminating research findings to society. We also collaborate with overseas quality assurance agencies to ensure the international recognition of our evaluations.
JUAA is officially recognized as a GGP-aligned agency by the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education .
JUAA is a full member of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network.
JUAA is a full member of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG).
JUAA is an Associate Member of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools.
